MIAMI MOMS, YOUR DAY (OFF) IS BACK, and Coconut Grove is Ready for You! 

The Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID)  announces the return of its Mom’s Day Off celebration, taking place this year on Saturday, May 9, 2026, throughout Coconut Grove. Following a successful inaugural event last year, the BID is bringing back the popular celebration with an expanded lineup of wellness, fitness, and dining experiences designed for moms across South Florida, just in time for Mother’s Day.

What sets Mom’s Day Off apart is simple: the kids are taken care of! Grove Academy will provide up to three hours of complimentary on-site childcare for registered attendees, giving moms the freedom to really enjoy the day. Children ages 3-4 and up are eligible (potty training required). Spots are limited and expected to fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged.

“There is no shortage of incredible moms in Miami, and many of them have a real connection to Coconut Grove,” said Mark Burns, executive director of the Coconut Grove BID. “Whether they own a business here, raise their families here, or simply love spending time here, Mom’s Day Off is designed to celebrate all of them. We want every Miami mom to feel welcome and to come experience everything the Grove has to offer.”

Beyond the activities, moms are encouraged to spend the day exploring the neighborhood’s restaurants, shops, and waterfront at their own pace. 

About the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District

The Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID) is comprised of a Board of Directors and six supportive committees that work in conjunction with the City of Miami, and is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the vitality of Coconut Grove’s commercial core. Established in 2009 by its property owners and merchants, the BID has developed a variety of programs to keep the District clean and secure, fund marketing projects, sponsor special events, beautify the streets and landscapes, capital improvements, collect and disseminate economic development research, facilitate access to parking, foster new business relationships, and partner with national, state and local organizations.
