THOUSANDS Gather as Coconut Grove BID Transforms Peacock Park Into the Ultimate World Cup Watch Party

The Grove Cup Watch Party proved to be a tremendous success, bringing together more than 3,000 residents, visitors, families, and soccer fans at Peacock Park for an unforgettable evening celebrating community and the world’s most popular sport.

Hosted by the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID), the event transformed Peacock Park into the Grove’s outdoor living room, where attendees gathered to watch the highly anticipated Brazil vs. Morocco World Cup match on a giant screen overlooking the beautiful Biscayne Bay.

The event was full of engagements and surprises. Guests enjoyed a vibrant lineup of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, local food, and interactive experiences that showcased the unique spirit of Coconut Grove.

One of the evening’s biggest highlights was a surprise halftime show that delighted fans of all ages. Larger-than-life character performers featuring oversized head props of some of the world’s most iconic soccer stars took to the stage, dancing, interacting with the crowd, and posing for photos with young fans. The energetic performance was enhanced by colorful smoke effects and stage pyrotechnics, creating a stadium-like atmosphere that brought Peacock Park to life and had the crowd cheering throughout the show.

Soccer fans enjoyed a designated area for Taste of the Grove, featuring some of Coconut Grove’s favorite culinary destinations, including Ariete Hospitality Group, The Drinking Pig BBQ, Bellini Gelato, New York Roma Pizza, and Bartaco, giving attendees an opportunity to enjoy a variety of local flavors while watching the match.

The event also received support from members of the Grove business community, including CocoCigars, helping create an engaging and welcoming atmosphere for attendees of all ages. Miami Waterkeeper was on site promoting its mission to protect and preserve South Florida’s waterways through education and environmental stewardship. Throughout the evening, the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District delighted kids with branded soccer balls and a variety of giveaways, adding to the excitement and family-friendly spirit of the event.

Families packed the park throughout the evening, enjoying a dedicated soccer experience for children, interactive activities, and entertainment designed to bring the community together. The festivities also featured a lively halftime show that kept the energy high and fans engaged throughout the event.
