McLaren Turns Coconut Grove Orange as Miami Celebrates Historic 1000th Grand Prix Milestone
Coconut Grove’s Pan American Drive was transformed into a sea of papaya orange as McLaren Racing brought the excitement of Formula 1 directly to the waterfront for a weeklong celebration unlike anything Miami has seen before.
With Regatta Harbour and Regatta Park as the backdrop, McLaren Racing Live: Miami marked a historic milestone for the team — its 1000th Grand Prix — by giving fans a rare chance to experience the speed, sound and atmosphere of the paddock in the heart of the city.
The celebration began on Wednesday, April 29, with a special one-day Showrun that turned the streets of Coconut Grove into a live racing spectacle. McLaren cars took over Pan American Drive in front of thousands of spectators, delivering the roar of engines and the thrill of race-day energy just feet away from fans.
It was a rare opportunity for fans to get closer to the action than ever before, as legendary drivers from past and present helped bring the team’s history to life in one unforgettable afternoon.
Beyond the Showrun, guests were invited to experience McLaren Racing like never before through a fan festival packed with immersive activities, displays and entertainment. Visitors explored a collection of iconic McLaren cars, tested their skills on professional racing simulators, interacted with partner activations, and shopped the latest McLaren merchandise, including the new PUMA collection.
Large screens throughout the venue broadcast every Miami Grand Prix session live, creating a communal race-week atmosphere where fans gathered together to watch the action while enjoying food, drinks and waterfront views.
The energy throughout the event was amplified by McLaren partner Monster Energy, whose presence added to the festival atmosphere with fan-focused activations and entertainment. The global brand, long associated with motorsport culture, continues its partnership with McLaren as both organizations expand their reach with younger and passionate racing audiences.
For many attendees, the event became one of the standout fan experiences of Miami Grand Prix week.
“It was by far the most enjoyable F1 event yet,” one fan said. “Seeing all these incredible drivers together was such a sweet and accelerating experience. Loving and enjoyable atmosphere making the most memorable moments.”
From the crowd lining Bayshore Drive to families gathered in Regatta Harbour for race screenings, the celebration showed how Formula 1 continues to grow beyond the circuit and into communities eager to be part of the sport.
For one week, Coconut Grove became the center of McLaren’s global celebration — where the sound of engines echoed through the bayfront streets, fans embraced the orange wave, and Miami got closer than ever to the world of Formula 1.
