HCA Florida Mercy Hospital and City of Miami Fire-Rescue Close Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a Message

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital, in partnership with the City of Miami Fire-Rescue, concluded Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a heartfelt celebration of strength, community, and hope.

Throughout October, the City of Miami Fire-Rescue’s Breast Cancer Awareness truck — a vibrant symbol of HOPE designed by world-renowned artist Romero Britto — traveled across Miami, spreading awareness about early detection and honoring those affected by breast cancer.

The specially designed truck was dedicated in loving memory of Kristin Jordahl, a beloved member of the Miami Fire-Rescue family whose courage and legacy continue to inspire.

As part of its monthlong observance, HCA Florida Mercy Hospital welcomed the Fire-Rescue team and their pink awareness truck to its campus, where staff and community members gathered for a meaningful moment at Mercy’s signature pink speed bump — a visual reminder that “early detection saves lives.”

At HCA Florida Mercy Hospital, team members proudly “wore pink with purpose,” standing together in support of breast cancer survivors, patients, and families. The event served as a powerful close to a month dedicated to advocacy, awareness, and compassion.
