A new smile destination has officially opened its doors in Coconut Grove as COCO Smiles Orthodontics celebrated its grand opening, welcoming families, community leaders, healthcare professionals, and supporters from across Miami to a modern practice focused on personalized care, advanced technology, and community connection.

The celebration was attended by representatives of the Republic of Türkiye, including Consul General Resul Şahinol and members of the Turkish diplomatic community, who joined local leaders and guests in recognizing this exciting new addition to South Florida’s healthcare landscape. Their presence underscored the significance of the occasion and reflected support for Dr. Sibel Eljach’s entrepreneurial vision and commitment to serving the community.

The attendance of Turkish diplomatic representatives also reflects the growing presence of the Turkish community in South Florida. According to U.S. Census estimates, Miami-Dade County is home to approximately 3,155 Turkish residents, while local community organizations estimate the broader Miami metropolitan area’s Turkish population to be between 5,000 and 8,000 residents. Drawn by South Florida’s international business environment, educational opportunities, and quality of life, the Turkish community continues to play an increasingly visible role in the region’s cultural and economic landscape.

Founded by Dr. Sibel Eljach, DMD, MS, COCO Smiles Orthodontics was created with a simple mission: to provide customized, high-quality orthodontic care in a positive, convenient, and community-centered environment where every patient feels at home.

After transforming thousands of smiles throughout Miami since 2020 and previously practicing in Chicago, Dr. Eljach decided to establish a practice of her own, bringing her expertise, experience, and patient-focused philosophy directly to the Coconut Grove community.

A graduate of the prestigious University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry and Orthodontics Residency Program, Dr. Eljach graduated at the top of her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Society. She also received numerous clinical and research honors, including the American Association of Orthodontists’ Best Resident Award.

Her training at one of the nation’s most respected orthodontic programs has prepared her to treat a wide range of cases, from routine orthodontic care to highly complex treatments requiring specialized expertise.
