French-American Artist Jessica De Vreeze Brings The First Augmented Reality Exhibition to Miami

French-American visual artist Jessica De Vreeze is introducing Miami to a powerful new way of experiencing art. Her latest project, “IF YOU WOULD SEE – Parallel Worlds,” is the city’s first Augmented Reality (AR) exhibition dedicated to illuminating the unseen labor of mothers.

Presented in honor of International Women’s Day, the immersive outdoor experience is now live at Peacock Park, where visitors can download a mobile app and walk through a digital storytelling journey layered into the physical landscape.

The exhibition showcases the deeply personal stories of six extraordinary women, highlighting the emotional, mental, and physical work mothers carry every day — work that often goes unnoticed.

“This project is about visibility,” De Vreeze says. “If we could truly see the parallel worlds mothers navigate daily, we would understand their strength, resilience, and impact in a completely different way.”

A New Dimension of Storytelling

Unlike traditional gallery exhibitions, “IF YOU WOULD SEE – Parallel Worlds” exists at the intersection of technology, public space, and human connection. As visitors move through Peacock Park, augmented reality installations appear on their screens, transforming the environment into a living narrative.

The project invites the community to slow down, reflect, and witness stories that are typically invisible in everyday life.

Art With a Mission

De Vreeze is the Founder and Creative Director of Unchained Mothering Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through art by amplifying women’s and mothers’ voices.

Born in Paris and now based in Miami, De Vreeze’s multicultural background informs her emotionally driven and socially conscious work. Through Unchained Mothering, she has built a platform that merges artistic expression with advocacy, creating spaces where women’s lived experiences are not only told — but felt.

Coconut Grove as the Backdrop

Choosing Coconut Grove’s Peacock Park as the setting was intentional. The open, accessible space reinforces the exhibition’s message: these stories belong to everyone.

By bringing augmented reality into a public park, De Vreeze ensures that art is not confined to gallery walls, but instead becomes part of daily life — just as motherhood itself is woven into the fabric of society.

An Invitation to See Differently

As Miami celebrates International Women’s Day, “IF YOU WOULD SEE – Parallel Worlds” challenges residents and visitors alike to reconsider what they may have overlooked.

The exhibition is free and open to the public. Attendees simply download the app onsite and begin their walk through the parallel worlds of six remarkable women.

Through technology, storytelling, and public art, Jessica De Vreeze is not just bringing AR to Miami — she is bringing visibility to the invisible.
