Hasta La Vista, Baby: The Last Carrot Says Goodbye to Its Current Location

For more than half a century, the Last Carrot has been a steady presence in Coconut Grove—a place where generations stopped for fresh juices, wheatgrass shots, hummus-on-pita, and a sense of belonging that went far beyond food. This week, that chapter came to a close as the beloved restaurant served its final days at 3133 Grand Ave ahead of the building’s demolition.

The final stretch was anything but quiet.

In the days leading up to the closure, Erin and the Last Carrot crew barely had a moment to catch their breath. Orders streamed in nonstop, tables stayed full, and the familiar rhythm of the space buzzed with energy. People lined up to eat at the Last Carrot one last time—some longtime regulars, others traveling from out of town just to be part of the moment.

Inside, memories flowed as freely as the juices. Customers shared stories of being brought here as kids after school, of moms who made the Last Carrot a ritual, of first tastes that turned into lifelong habits. Old friends reunited, strangers hugged, and the room filled with laughter, gratitude, and the occasional tear. It was a reminder that this was never just a restaurant—it was a community anchor.

While this marks the end of the Last Carrot’s run at its longtime location, it is not a goodbye. The spirit that defined the space—rooted in health, connection, and authenticity—remains very much alive. Support poured in from all corners, reinforcing what many have always known: the Last Carrot is bigger than any single address.

As the doors close on this chapter, the message is clear. The energy doesn’t stop here. This is simply a pause, a transition, a “see you again.”

To Erin and the entire crew, thank you for more than 50 years of nourishment, memories, and heart. Coconut Grove won’t forget this place—and it eagerly awaits what comes next.

Hasta la vista, baby.
