Shop Small Saturday – November 29

Coconut Grove has always been a community built on small and independent businesses, the boutiques, cafés and artisans that give the neighborhood its one-of-a-kind charm. In partnership with American Express, the Coconut Grove BID will once again celebrate Shop Small Saturday, a nationwide event that encourages shoppers to support local businesses.

Throughout the day, visitors can stroll the Grove’s tree-lined streets and enjoy exclusive promotions, giveaways, sidewalk sales, live music, and special activations from local retailers, restaurants, and artisans.

Entertainment highlights include live performances from Yacht Rock Band from noon to 6 p.m., family-friendly activities, and plenty of holiday cheer. Building on the success of September’s inaugural event, the BID will also roll out the Coconut Grove Brunch Club for the occasion. Guests who dine at participating restaurants will receive special offers and have a chance to take home branded souvenir “Brunch in the Grove” stemless wine glasses. Maria Stella, a talented fashion illustrator will also be stationed on Commodore Plaza, creating watercolor portraits for guests to take home.

“We’re proud to celebrate the small businesses that make Coconut Grove such a special place. The Business Improvement District was created with small businesses and entrepreneurs in mind, and our main goal is to help them flourish and thrive,” said Mark Burns, executive director of the BID. “Shop Small Saturday is more than just shopping; it’s about community, connection and celebrating the local entrepreneurs who give this neighborhood its unique character.”

Coconut Grove continues to grow as a destination for unique boutiques—from national names like Alice + Olivia, LoveShackFancy, Buck Mason, Brandy Melville, and Bluemercury to more than 30 independent favorites including Unika (founded in 1989), H&H Jewels, Goldenbar, The Wardrobe & More, and Sprinhaus. The Grove also offers upscale dining, lively bars, and landmark destinations such as CocoWalk and the Mayfair House Hotel & Garden.
