Coconut Grove Unveils a “Spook-tacular” Lineup of October Events Including Exciting Family-Friendly Activities 

Happenings include a Fun Neighborhood Cleanup, Halloween Costume Swap and a Halloween Evening to Remember – All in the Heart of Miami

This  October, the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID) invites locals and visitors alike  to step into a month of magic, creativity, and community spirit with two exciting events that highlight the Grove’s commitment to culture, sustainability, and inclusive celebration. From a whimsical Halloween transformation in the Grove to eco-friendly initiatives and inspiring performances, Coconut Grove is the place to be this fall.

Event #1: Spooky Debris Cleanup & Costume Swap on Saturday, October 11 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Peacock Park

Get spooky and sustainable with a Halloween-themed community cleanup and costume swap. Coconut Grove BID and local partners invite guests to come dressed in costume and help clean the neighborhood for one hour to help  prepare for the Halloween festivities. 

Event Highlights include:

  • Community debris cleanup in Coconut Grove with all materials provided (gloves, trash bags, vests)
  • Halloween costume swap — drop off and take home lightly-worn costumes
  • (Those who want to donate their gently-used costumes can do so from now through October 8 by dropping them off at the Coconut Grove BID office, local library, ChillN Coconut Grove or participating schools (St. Stephen’s, Ransom Everglades, Carrollton)
  • Family-friendly activities and refreshments
  • Prizes for best group costume themes among volunteers
  • Photo opportunities throughout the event

*Guests should bring a water bottle and Halloween costume (if applicable).

Event #2: Alice in WonderGrove – A Halloween Adventure on Friday, October 31 from 6 – 9 p.m. in Downtown Coconut Grove

Downtown Coconut Grove will transform into a free and open-to-the-public “WonderGrove,” an immersive Halloween experience inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Families and children are invited to explore a magical evening filled with performances, trick-or-treating, and themed entertainment. 

Event Highlights include:

  • Trick-or-Treating throughout Downtown Coconut Grove 
  • Live music and roaming performers
  • Children’s entertainment and interactive games
  • K-Pop dance performance by the 4Eva Dance Group with an “Alice in WonderGrove” theme
  • Special theatrical performance of Alice in WonderGrove, written by Brandon Urrutia, Miami New Times’ Local Playwright of 2025
  • Costume contest with categories for all ages

Coconut Grove Business Improvement District

The Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID) is comprised of a Board of Directors and six supportive committees that work in conjunction with the City of Miami, and is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the vitality of Coconut Grove’s commercial core. Established in 2009 by its property owners and merchants, the BID has developed a variety of programs to keep the District clean and secure, fund marketing projects, sponsor special events, beautify the streets and landscapes, capital improvements, collect and disseminate economic development research, facilitate access to parking, foster new business relationships, and partner with national, state and local organizations.
