HCA Florida Mercy Hospital Completes $42.8 Million Women’s Services Expansion

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is proud to announce the completion of a $42.8 million Women’s Services expansion project. This milestone comes as the hospital celebrates 75 years of serving the community and a legacy of welcoming newborns since 1950.

Key features of the Women’s Services expansion include:

  • New 25-Bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): Designed with private spaces and ocean views, the NICU offers a serene setting for families. It includes dedicated infant/parent rooms, allowing parents to stay with their baby for 24 hours before transitioning home. The NICU also features a cutting-edge camera system, enabling families to stay connected through real-time, live-streaming video access.
  • Expanded Labor & Delivery and Postpartum Units: The upgraded units increase capacity and integrate advanced technology to support laboring mothers. Spacious labor and delivery rooms include cordless fetal monitoring and accommodations for partners, ensuring a nurturing birth experience. The expansion also introduces an upgraded, dedicated OB emergency department for immediate specialized care.
  • Enhanced Patient Experience & Comfort: To celebrate each birth, the hospital offers fresh Cafecito around the clock and a special celebration lunch for new families.

“For 75 years, HCA Florida Mercy Hospital has been a trusted provider of exceptional care, and this expansion reinforces our commitment to the families who depend on us,” said Allyssa Tobitt, Chief Executive Officer at HCA Florida Mercy Hospital. “Generations of babies have been born here, and with these enhancements to our Women’s Services, we are ensuring that future generations receive the highest level of care in a modern, family-centered environment.”
