CocoWalk to Welcome Da Angelino Cucina Italiana

Da Angelino Cucina Italiana, an all-new modern Italian restaurant, will open on Coconut Grove’s CocoWalk in September 2025, signifying a first-of-its-kind collaboration between two of South Florida’s most respected hospitality groups: Graspa Group and Ariete Hospitality Group. The restaurant marks a milestone for both companies – Graspa Group’s long-anticipated entry into Coconut Grove and Ariete Hospitality’s first Italian concept.

Blending Graspa Group’s decades of experience operating beloved Italian establishments throughout South Florida (including Osteria and Salumeria 104) with Ariete Hospitality’s innovative, Michelin-starred approach, Da Angelino Cucina Italiana aims to feel refined and contemporary, while still melding family tradition, timeless hospitality and soulful cuisine.

Located at 3015 Grand Ave., the 4,441-square-foot restaurant offers seating for 150 guests throughout the indoor dining room and garden-style patio. The interiors feature warm terra-cotta and soft sage tones, with crisp white linen tablecloths on every table. Outside, the patio provides a lush yet relaxed setting for alfresco dining. Additional personal touches, such as a vintage Polaroid photo station, contribute to the restaurant’s family-first feel.

Named for and helmed by Florence-born hospitality veteran Angelin Kometa, the restaurant is a tribute to the style of Italian dining that makes guests want to linger. At the heart of the experience is Kometa himself, who will bring his magnetic energy and signature warmth to the front of the house daily.

“It’s not fine dining in the traditional sense,” said Kometa. “It’s how we grew up eating in Italy – elegant but never stiff, where guests are welcomed like family.”

Da Angelino Cucina Italiana is also rooted in the personal history of Ariete Hospitality CEO Andrew Falsetto, who grew up frequenting Graspa Group restaurants with his Italian father.

“We’ve dreamed of opening an Italian restaurant in the Grove for years,” said Falsetto. “But we knew we had to do it with the right partners. Graspa Group brings decades of award-winning flavor, service and soul.”

The menu is a love letter to Italy’s many regions, offering a flavorful journey from north to south. Think: seafood dishes inspired by the southern coast, rich Brasato al Barolo slow-cooked in red wine and pillowy house-made pasta rolled fresh each day.

Broken into various sections, the menu begins with a robust selection of Antipasti and Crudo, featuring fresh and flavorful starters like Tuna Tartare, Polpo alla Griglia and Frittura Mista. Cheese and charcuterie lovers can build their own boards with the Formaggi e Salumi selections–choose four or eight– featuring options like Prosciutto San Daniele aged 24 months, mortadella, salame picante and cheeses such as truffled pecorino, taleggio and piacentinu allo zafferano.

For lighter bites, the Stuzzichini section offers Italian-style small plates like Arancini and Mini Calzoni and more; while seasonal salads like the Burrata Caprese and seafood-forward Di Mare bring fresh, flavorful options.

House-made pastas are at the heart of the menu, with Primi highlights like tableside Cacio e Pepe alla Ruota, Gnocchi alla Vodka and Linguine ai Frutti di Mare. From the Secondi and Dalla Griglia (From the Grill) sections, expect standout entrées such as Short Ribs and the showstopping Cotoletta alla Milanese – already poised to become the restaurant’s signature. Sharable cuts of steak, including 1.5 lb Ribeye for two will be available as well.

To complete the experience, guests can choose from a selection of Contorni (sides), including Braised Artichokes, Grilled Jumbo Asparagus and Creamy Spinach with Parmesan.

The wine list is a thoughtful, curated journey through Italy and beyond. At its heart is Rossi (or red), the largest section, dedicated to bold Italian reds from Tuscany, Veneto, Sicily and Piedmont. The International Reds section brings depth from Napa Valley, Spain, Chile and France, while Bianchi (or white) section features crisp whites from France and Italy, including Trentino, Friuli and Campania. The list rounds out with Italian Rosés and French Champagnes, perfect for celebratory sips.

Guests can also look forward to a cocktail program that blends timeless, handcrafted classics with house-curated signatures — each designed to pair perfectly with the modern Italian menu and elevate the overall dining experience.

With the opening of the new restaurant, Da Angelino Cucina Italiana will bring an estimated 30 new jobs to the area.

Da Angelino Cucina Italiana will be located at 3015 Grand Ave. in Coconut Grove, FL. It will be open Monday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., Fridays from 4 to 11 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 11 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 10 p.m. To learn more, visit daangelino.com.
